The purpose of this blog is mainly for my individual selfish reasons I suppose. This past month or so has been incredibly disappointing as I see my life suddenly spiraling downwards. I lost my job, destroyed the bottom of my car...and then the last shoe fell when I had my heart broken.
After much consideration and internal debate, I've decided to leave Medfield and move back to Worcester. As surreal to me as it seems, I think its the logical choice. Not too much has gone right since I moved to Medfield.
While reflecting on what has occured in my life recently, I've decided that I have no one to blame but myself. Not that I did anything wrong. I need to change my way of life, because if I dont, I'm afraid of what will happen.
So with all that said, I have several main goals that I hope this blog will help me keep track of. I make these goals in order to improve myself and document them as achieve them.
This blog will also serve as a tool of encouragment and communication. My hope is that you will all follow my progress and any advise or thoughts that you may have I encourage you to share them with me. This all may seem ridiculous, but I think it may turn into a great way to stay in touch and to keep me writing.
My goals for 2009 are as listed:
1. Get my degree
2. Get 100 clips
3. Get sober
4. Lose 20 pounds
5. Start a career/find a job
There will be supplemental blogs describing each of these goals in detail and my means of achieving them. In the end, I hope this blog helps me change my life. And encourages others to improve theirs as well. I promise to hold nothing back.
I think this is a great idea! I'm glad you decided to share this with all of us, and I think it will help a ton!
ReplyDeleteJust my 2 cents: If the goals listed above are in order of importance I would argue that #1 should be getting sober.
In the past, the one thing that has held you back from so many other things has been sobriety. Drinking has lead to dropping out of school, job issues, and depression. By putting this as goal as #1 you are buying insurance on your other goals - if your sober the odds are better that you will succeed in obtaining your other goals.
I'll always be there for you, and I'm behind you 100% on your goals, although I'm not sure what 100 clips is...are you going for some Guiness Book of World Records record for paper clips? If you need any help with anything you know you can always count on me.
Sarge, I should start by saying that you are one of my closest friends in the entire world. I have always been proud to call you a friend and that will never ever change. I think of you as a brother which means I would walk through hell and back for you.
ReplyDeleteI agree that there has been some rough patches for you recently, as there is with everyone at times. But none of them are your fault in any way shape or form. If you want to change the direction of your life I am on board, whatever you need I will be here for you as I am sure the other guys will be as well. I think the blog is a great idea and I will be contributing regularly.
You have some awesome goals set for yourself in 2009 and I know that they are attainable for you. You are focusing on yourself, which is exactly what you need to do right now.
